Step-by-Step Design offers both single-session and multi-session options for organizing services. Packages and prices are listed here.

The standard organizing rate is $40/hour.  A minimum of three hours is required. Discounts are available with the purchase of a package deal.

Whether your project is large or small, it will begin with an in-home consultation. The cost of the consultation is $50 for up to 90 minutes. During the consultation we will discuss the scope of your project and determine which service option is best for you. If you decide to hire my services, the cost of your consultation will be applied to your first session. 

Organizing Options

Organizing quick fix

Cost: $120

This is a single three hour organizing session. The Quick Fix is a great option for beginners who want to try out the experience of working with an organizer but who aren’t yet sure they want to commit to a major undertaking. In three hours, we can complete a small organizing project such as a closet, bathroom, pantry or entryway or we can begin a larger-scale project such as a kitchen, garage or home office.

During our Quick Fix Organizing session we will sort, declutter and organize. We will also identify storage solutions as needed. In addition, we’ll discuss basic principles of organization as they apply to your project and develop a system for maintaining the newly established order. 

working in manageable increments

My organizing sessions are generally three hours in length*. Organizing is hard work. It can be mentally, physically and emotionally draining depending on the project. Three hours is enough time to complete a small organizing project, such as a pantry or walk-in closet, but not so much time that enthusiasm starts to wane. In the case of larger tasks, three hours is ample time to tackle a good 'chunk' of the project so that everyone can feel that real progress was made without feeling burned out.

If three hour time increments don't work well for you, please make that known at the time of the consultation, and adjustments can be made to meet your needs. 

At the end of this session, you may decide to upgrade to a cost-effective organizing package, schedule another 3-hour Quick Fix session, or continue on your own with the knowledge and motivation you’ve gained from our time together.

Package Deals

The package plans listed below are generic in nature. In addition to these options, I offer custom packages to meet specific needs. Perhaps 15 hours is more than you need, but a single session isn't enough. Or maybe you need more than 15 hours but fewer than 30 hours of assistance to accomplish your goals. Whatever the case may be, I'm happy to work with you to offer the best deal for your dollar. 

15-Hour Package 

(10% savings over standard rate)

Package plans include all of the services available during a single session at a discounted price. The 15-hour package plan consists of five 3-hour sessions. If you opt for a 15-hour package plan, a plan of action will be established during the initial in-home consultation. In 15 hours, we can tackle multiple small projects around the house or one complex project.

All five sessions of the 15-hour package plan should be redeemed within three months of purchase in order to maintain momentum.

30-Hour Package

(15% savings over standard rate)

As noted above, package plans include all of the services available during a single session at a discounted price. 

Managing Your Plan

A portion of the hours from a package plan can be used for a shopping session with the organizer to purchase organizing products specific to your needs.

This plan allows us to create order throughout the entire home over the course of 10 3-hour sessions.  This is a great option for those who are looking to give their home a complete overhaul. It’s also excellent for those interested in meeting on a regular basis for long term maintenance.

All ten sessions of the 30-hour package plan should be redeemed within six months of purchase in order to maintain momentum.

Do It Yourself Option

DIY Consultation

Cost: $150

For individuals on a tight budget or those who are extremely self-motivated the DIY Consultation offers another option for getting organized. This service offers an opportunity to consult one-on-one with an experienced organizer about how best to tackle your specific organization challenges.

Optional Floorplan

A scaled floor plan with furniture placement suggestions is available for an additional fee of $75.

Following a 90 minute in-home assessment you’ll receive a written action plan for your project. This will include a prioritized to-do list as well as suggested storage products (if applicable).  You will also receive a follow-up phone call 2-4 weeks after the consultation to check on your progress and answer any questions you may have.

Punch Card

Complete five 3-hour sessions (the equivalent of a 15-hour package) and get a sixth 3-hour session for half price. Request a punch card at your in-home consultation.
